Training Center Update
16
Sep '22
The Lord has provided us with a piece of land to construct the Christian Training Center for future leaders. We are in the process of developing the land with a building that will host many activities including:
- Discipling new believers
- Training future leaders to plant new churches
- Providing a place to rest and grow for missionaries, those facing persecution, or people who need a respite
- Creating a space that can be used for conferences or as a retreat center for the local church
Together we can transform lives through prayer and by your financial support. We are so thankful to all the churches and our supporters who believe in the mission and vision of Christ for the Crescent World. Your partnership is vital and has made it possible for us to continue reaching the lost for Jesus Christ. We can see that we can do more together, and there is so much more to be done in Lebanon and beyond.

There are still opportunities for your group to visit Lebanon and work with us to reach the lost with the life-changing Gospel message. Let us know if you would like more information.

Without heat, people suffer
07
Feb '22
When you are living in a tent, a snowstorm with feet (not inches) of snow is a big problem. It collapses tent walls and roofs, leaving refugees desperate for warmth. In 2022, there has already been record-breaking snow, with bitter cold that complicates efforts to help the most needy.
Refugees already live far below the poverty line, and they need help. Shining Hope International provides winter shoes, warm clothes, and heavy coats for families who are trying to survive on nothing. We also distribute blankets and mazote (heating fuel) — anything that will help people make it through the winter.
With the US dollar worth so much more than the local currency (lira) in Lebanon, your donation of any amount go such a long way. Not only do we provide warmth from the clothes and blankets, we offer families a Jesus Film and a Bible and warmth that comes through hope in Christ. Please help us help them.

Blessing refugees in places that should be unreachable
04
Feb '22
The refugee crisis in Lebanon presents a rare opportunity to share the love of God and His word with people who normally would be unreachable.
“It is not easy to get permission to go inside these [Syrian refugee] camps — they are fortified like prisons with armed soldiers guarding these camps — but God has given us wide open doors to go to minister the Gospel to countless people.” — Outreach Volunteer in [WHEVER IN LEBANON, I.E., WESTERN, EASTERN, OR NAME THE CITY OR REGION], Lebanon
“At times when they [the refugees] see us handing out copies of the New Testament, more come over and ask for one for themselves. We also go tent to tents to share the gospel with whole families. Some of them are asking us to come back and teach them more from the Bible.” — Outreach Volunteer in [WHEVER IN LEBANON, I.E., WESTERN, EASTERN, OR NAME THE CITY OR REGIO,], Lebanon
Friends, God has presented us with an incredible opportunity to place Bibles in the hands of people who are hungry for the Word of God in some of the most Bible-hostile places on earth. We ask that you pray for those we reach and that God would multiply our efforts.

Sponsor a child and give the gift of hope.
02
Feb '22
According to Unicef 2020, Lebanon hosts 55.5% of Syrians refugees and approximately 46% are children. These refugees had to flee for safety from violence and conflict within their country. Lost without a home, these children have the right to be heard, loved and cared for.
We are at Shining Hope International are so proud of our recent and continued work to provide education, hope, and humanitarian needs to the Syrians refugees in Lebanon, and we would like to thank you for being a part of our community.
However, our mission is to reach out, educate, inspire, and transform lives to have a better future. You have been there as each child successfully managed to pass from one grade to another. You have empowered them to learn read and write, but there is so much more to be done.
We offer these children HOPE! For less than the cost of a cup of coffee per day, you can make an eternal difference in a child’s life. Not only provides his or her education, it allows us the opportunity to improve the family’s shelter (often just a plastic tent), provide warm clothing and shoes, and the open the door to share the gospel.
Children everywhere deserve a bright future — the opportunity to feel safe, be educated, and hear the Good News of the of Christ’s love. Please don’t miss out on this opportunity to be a blessing.

Training the future with hope
06
Jan '22
In addition to the school for refugee children, we are planning for the Christian Leadership Training & Conference Center. This is the next step in fulfilling one of our Guiding Values to multiply.
Despite persecution of believers, many of our new converts express the desire to go back to their hometown and start a church. To replicate the work we do in Lebanon in Syria and other Middle Eastern countries, we need to train Biblical leaders.
This training / conference center is shovel ready — we have purchased the land and have acquired the necessary government permits. To start, we need funds to purchase materials and pay workers.
We are excited to see the project begin, and with the US dollar being worth so much more than the local currency (lira) in Lebanon, your donation of any amount goes a long way. Help us to fulfill the great commission to “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19).

Bread for Life
15
Dec '21
Lebanon’s annual inflation rate surged to a fresh record peak of 224.39% in December 2021. People who used to be middle class are now in poverty, and the poor are desperate. Shining Hope International is reaching out to those in need with our “Bread for Life” campaign.
We offer bread, a smiling face, and the gift of God’s love to those who come for food. People start to line up at XXXXXXX, and they keep coming until we run out of resources. They come for the food, but they receive so much more. In addition to bread, we provide a DVD about Jesus.
The Jesus Film is a wonderful tool to introduce people to the life-saving work of Jesus Christ. It takes the watchers through the story of Christ Life and the Good News of the Gospel. We are only able to provide this ministry because of the generous donations that come through Shining Hope International.

HOPE for Lebanon after the explosion in Beirut
12
Sep '21
On August 4, 2020, there was a powerful explosion at the port of Beirut. The massive fireball killed more than 200 and injured about 6,000 people, causing $12 billion in property damage and stealing the homes of an estimated 300,000 people.
The explosion was linked to ~2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate that had been confiscated by the Lebanese government from an abandoned ship and stored in the port without proper safety measures for 6 years. It was felt as far away as Turkey, Syria, Israel, and parts of Europe, and it was heard more than 160 miles away in Cyprus. It is regarded as among the most powerful, non-nuclear explosions in history!
Lebanon’s economy was already in deep crisis as the national currency (Lira) lost 80% of its value; the high inflation has left almost everyone in poverty. At the same time, the COVID-19 pandemic is at its peak, and hospitals (some already short of medical supplies and unable to pay staff due to a financial crisis) are filled with patients.
The physical and emotional needs are overwhelming. Our teams on the ground are working with churches, families, and individuals to put people back on their feet:
- Food packages for affected families
- Help with medical supplies and prescriptions
- Sanitary hygiene supplies
- Financial assistance to replace shattered doors, broken windows, and homes
- Aid to restore churches and schools
Help us help them — Donate now.
